The UK was leading the pack when it came to the Industrial Revolution, and a big part of our manufacturing industry was based in the North of England. Everything from manufacturing goods through to shipbuilding, ship repairs, and coal mining happened in the North East, particularly in Newcastle. It should not come as a surprise then, that much of the local economy now is focused on industry, retail trade and tourism.
With such a deep-rooted history in the world of industry, the north of England – and Newcastle in particular – is well known for its past associations with wool, coal mining, and ship building. In fact, at one point the city even held the claim to one of the biggest shipyards in the world.
Despite the passing of time, these industries have not been forgotten in Newcastle. More and more people in the North East are working within industry and manufacturing with a healthy associated economy. Generations of families have been involved in the same businesses and trades; the only difference is these days, the life expectancy of people in these areas is much more acceptable!
The main reason behind this is the introduction of health and safety training and qualifications. One of the most important training courses you can attend when working in industry is IPAF Training. In Newcastle, this is especially important as so many industries require working at height qualifications.
What will the IPAF Training course give you?
Here at North East Access Training, our vast and extensive experience is well placed in Newcastle and Tyne and Wear to provide first class training to those that need it. Spread over a whole day, the course covers working at height theory, hazards, and responsibilities, as well as practical experience in inspecting, using and working with equipment. Each area is assessed and a log book completed. Upon successful completion, candidates will receive an IPAF Training PAL Card.
Our IPAF Training Newcastle centre is ideally placed for those travelling from around the county, including Gateshead, Sunderland, Teesside, Peterlee and Washington.
More importantly, the IPAF Training course in Newcastle gives you the chance to continue the legacy and history of the local area by investing in a future in industry and trade.
